As a workshop facilitator with Samsung Kings Cross, I was part of the art collective named "Something in the Middle" at UAL Central Saint Martins. Our mission was to create an interactive three-dimensional map that captured the essence of time spent at home. Through a series of engaging workshops conducted via Zoom, we reached schools and communities across Camden and Islington, inspiring creativity and fostering well-being during the pandemic.
Collaborating with participants virtually posed its challenges, but our determination to engage and inspire overcame these obstacles, enriching the project with diverse perspectives and ideas. Through our collective creativity, we demonstrated the power of art to bring communities together and create meaningful connections even during challenging times.

During my time as an Artist in Residence (in collaboration with Cubitt Studios) at Arts and Media School Islington, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with students from year 8 and year 10. Together, we embarked on a creative journey that celebrated the essence of analogue photography.
Inspired by historical photos from minority communities sourced from online archives, the students were given disposable cameras to document their lives for a week. These film photos capture the authentic and unfiltered moments of their daily experiences, reflecting the vibrant diversity within their communities and family homes.
Through this unique project, art became a powerful tool for self-expression and cultural exploration. The captivating images provide a visual archive of their identities and narratives, empowering each student to share their stories through the art of photography.

Archiving the Keskidee arts centre

Stills from a heartfelt music video recreation, created and performed by the youth members of Crumbles Castle, this inspiring project was brought to life just a two-minute walk away from the historic Keskidee Arts Centre.

Stills from 'Is this Love?' - Bob Marley's Iconic Music Video Filmed at Keskidee Arts Centre in 1978

Our ambitious project brought together local students from Central Saint Martins and the vibrant community of Crumbles Castle, a nearby playground in Kings Cross. With a shared passion for art, storytelling, and play and set out on a journey to archive the historic Keskidee Centre.
As we delved into the past, we collected invaluable information from locals living on the road, old documents, and treasured photographs. The mission was to preserve the legacy of the Keskidee Centre, a place that held significant cultural and artistic importance.
Our artistic endeavors culminated in the recreation of Bob Marley and The Wailers' iconic music video, 'Is this Love,' filmed at the Keskidee Centre in 1978. Through this creative expression, we paid homage to the centre's history while celebrating its impact on the arts and the community.
